Who are we and why do we exist?

The Fleet Safety Association comprises a number of professional organisations who are at the forefront of occupational driver safety and who are united in their goal of getting occupational driver safety on the agenda in every board room in the land.

We are determined to effectively communicate the need for employers to introduce measures which reduce the risk of people who drive in the course of their work and then provide assurances that customers using member organisations will receive dependable, effective, value-for-money products and services.

Our objectives

  • To promote the benefits of managing work-related road safety to the widest possible audience, including commerce, industry, legislators and government departments.
  • To promote the highest standards of management practice of vehicle fleet risk management and driver training.
  • To provide a research and statistical centre, to aggregate and publish statistics, and to provide analysis on corporate driver training and vehicle fleet risk management and other relevant market information.
  • To provide a technical centre providing commentary, guidance and advice on all legal and other regulatory developments of relevance to vehicle fleet safety management.
  • To endorse members' professional standing.
  • To provide a forum for the exchange of non-competitive information and best practice amongst members.

Endorsements After five years with Driving Services the annual number of claims for our 230 strong fleet has fallen to just 24, costing a total of £3,816, with the average claim being just £159. The insurance costs have decreased to £370 per vehicle. Out of the 24 claims none were attributed to Bell and Howell employees and three happened when the vehicles were parked! A 37% increase in fleet size with an 85% decrease in accident rates isn’t bad. Endorsements

Endorsements As a direct result of embarking upon Drive & Survive training our accident costs have reduced from £16,500 per annum to £6,500 in the first year following training, and to £2,500 in the second year. A real result, vastly improving my employees welfare, whilst at the same time saving very significant sums of money. Endorsements
